In the shadow of the snow-covered Himalayas, Khajjiar Lake is the most spectacular of the region's lakes. Surrounded by cedar forest at an elevation of 1,920 m, fed by small Himalayan streams. Visit the Khajinag temple nearby for its fine wood carvings and gold dome.
Shrouded by a green blanket of pine and deodar and enfolding refreshing water streams, Panchpula has always been a favourite Dalhousie spot. A nice picnic ground with exotic waterfalls and cool streams — only three kilometres from the main city.
One of the most frequented tours from Dalhousie. On the route to Chamba, about 36 km from the town, the dam is built over the Ravi and supports the region's hydroelectric project. Its reservoir, Chamera Lake, is the hub of water sports near the city.

Dainkund is the highest peak in the Dalhousie region — famous for its 360° views of the valleys and its quiet, uncrowded serenity. At the top, the breeze moves through the trees with a sound that stays with you long after you've come back down.
A 30.69 sq km animal sanctuary at Kalatop and Khajjiar in the Chamba district. Well laid-out trekking trails, dense deodar and fir forest covering nearly 20 sq km, and residents including pheasants, serow and Himalayan black bear. About 6 km from Dalhousie.
